Kiyohide Okamoto graduated in the Electrical Engineering Course of the Faculty of Engineering at Osaka City University. After engaging in activities at the Control Business Division of Tateisi Electric Manufacturing Co. (present OMRON Corporation), he managed patent liaison for OMRON R&D Inc., a R&D subsidiary company based in California, the United States from 1973 to 1976. After returning to Japan, he has gained experience in every business relating to international and domestic intellectual property. After taking up the position of general manager of the Intellectual Property Division of H.Q., he continued as the advisor in charge of Intellectual Property in 2006, and retired from Omron Corporation in 2008. In April 2008 he has established an IP consulting office OKAMOTO IP Management as the president. He has been the Past President of LES Japan (The Licensing Executives Society Japan) since February 2010 after the president in 2006 and 2007, the past Director of Intellectual Property Association of Japan after the Director in 2006 to 2014, the Visiting Professor of Kobe University since April 2009, and also the former past Professor, Graduate School of Intellectual Property, Osaka Institute of Technology after the Professor in April 2011 to March 2016.
